Learning Model
College of Santa Fe hybrid programs take advantage of the best of both worlds—online learning and face-to-face interaction with faculty members—to help you develop the skills to succeed in today’s organizations. This hybrid delivery model emphasizes competencies highly valued by employers by:
- Teaching discipline-specific knowledge
- Enhancing communication skills
- Recognizing the important role group dynamics play in the workplace.
The eight-week online component provides an environment for you to
- Learn the underlying concepts in a subject area
- Reflect on and communicate these concepts
- Engage in dialogue with colleagues to apply these concepts to real workplace situations.
- Study at a time and place of your choosing, accessing course materials and engaging in discussions with colleagues through the Web.
Interaction with faculty members and colleagues in one, three-hour face-to-face session in each course extends the understanding and collaboration you'll develop in the online classroom. You’ll build your professional confidence and refine your verbal communication skills through
- Facilitated classroom conversations
- Individual and group presentations
- Real-time feedback from faculty members
During these face-to-face meetings, faculty members may also work with student groups to provide guidance on group projects.
